Zambia: Kigonya’s Forest Rangers refuse to play against Zanaco FC for alleged Convid-19 test positive in Camp.

The Zambia Super League was scheduled to return on 18th July 2020 with two games to kick off after along time of being suspended due to Convid-19.

In National Division one Kitwe United played Police College which 1-2 in favour of Police.

Forest Ranges FC who are leading the table with 46 points from 24 games and home to Ugandan goal keeper Mathius Muwanga was scheduled to play Zanaco FC, but hours to kickoff of the game, Forest Rangers released the statement that are not going to play the game because 28 of 58 staffs tested positive of Convid 19 of tests they took last week.

There was an emergency stake holders meeting involving FAZ general Secretary Andrian Kashara, Director of Sports John John Zulu, National Sports Council of Zambia acting general secretary Raphael Mulenga and FAZ vice president Rix Mweemba.

“We have not received any official correspondence from the minister of Health on the 28 positive cases recorded by Forest Rangers” Kashara Adrian the FAZ general secretary quoted by Lusaka times

“Other games will continue as scheduled as we look into the case of forest rangers and Zanaco FC.”

Later on the matters were resolved and scheduled the game to go on.

Zanaco FC the visiting team went onto the filed for the inspection by match officials but Forest Rangers stayed in their dressing rooms.

Forest Rangers insist that 17 of their players tested positive of the deadly disease of Corona Virus.

Sports Minister in Zambia Emmanuel Mulenga insists tomorrow games will be there after confirmation of tested results in the morning.

“Tomorrow’s games (Sunday) will continue depend on out come of test results that are expected to be ready by 8:00 a.m.” He told the Media.

A double header tomorrow, Zesco will play Kansashi Dynamos and Buildcon host Power Dynamos.
