The World Boxing Federation President Howard Goldberg Ivor believes Uganda’s rising heavyweight Professional boxer Shafik Kiwanuka has a bright future and he can conquer the world.
Goldberg is in the country to witness the anticipated World Boxing Federation African title fight between Kiwanuka and Zimbabwe’s Thamsang slated for Friday 29th November at the International University of East Africa Auditorium.
“At 23 years, he still has a bright future and I urge his promoters to give him more tasks, in case he wins on Friday against Thamsanga then get him another better fighter.”
“He is still in his prime and to contest for the World title. It takes some experience of building a record of about 12 fights and if handled well he can make it.”Howard Goldberg
During the weigh-in held on Thursday at the International University of East Africa, Kiwanuka made 102Kg while his opponent was 115Kg. The two fighters will go toe to toe to determine the undisputed African champion.
