Uganda Premier League reigning champions, Viper Sports Club and other Cecafa regional clubs  set to participate in an organised pre- CAF tournament as away of preparing the clubs for the upcoming CAF competitions next season.

This development was confirmed by one of Viper SC director Taddius Kitandwe when he appeared on NBS the score last night of sunday while talking on Vipers SC preparations for the CAF Champions League.

“We are trying to talk to our other regional clubs [Cecafa], so that we can have a pre-Caf tournament.” Kitandwe said.

Vipers SC were  crowned Uganda premier league champions over the weekend, winning their fifth league title and they going to represent Uganda in next season’s CAF Champions League and Regional organised tournament, Cecafa club Championship.

Kitandwe added that, they are in negotiations with one of the big Television company “Azam Tv”  to broadcast the games.

Cecafa Club championship would have given good preparations for CAF competitions but the problem is about it’s timing because some time it’s being played after the clubs have already bow out of the competitions and other leagues are not played to conclusions.

And this year’s edition is going to be hosted in Tanzania and dates are not yet revealed.

Cecafa Clubs have not had a good performance over the recent years except Sudan clubs that’s Al Hilal and El Merrikh.
