UPL: Vipers SC launch title defence with victory over Gaddafi FC.

Vipers Sports Club has launched their Uganda Premier League title defence with a hard fought win over Gadaffi FC on road at Gaddafi Arena stadium.

Captain Milton Karisa opened the score for the venoms in 27th minute as he capitalized on defender’s mistake to slot the ball at the back of the net to put the visiting team into lead.

Mauritanian born forward, Mohammad Salem extended the lead to make 2-0 in 42′ as he finished off a parried ball by Dennis Ochieng after Anukani Bright short.

Torachi pushed Amos Kirya in a forbidden area and penalty was awarded to home side which former SC Villa forward, Benson Muhindo converted to make it 1-2 in 52′.

Gaddafi FC could have scored the equalizer after relentless attacks but Vipers SC defenders were equal to the challenges to hold onto the lead and walk with all the maximum points from the encounter.

Vipers SC will host Area Hills SC which will be played under floodlights on the evening of Thursday, 21st September.

Meanwhile Gaddafi FC will make a short to Metha Stadium to play tax collectors (URA FC) in their next fixture.
