UPL: Vipers SC defeat Arua Hills to ascend to top of table.

Uganda Premier League defending Champions, Vipers Sports Club defeated Arua Hills SC in a game played under floodlights of St Mary’s stadium as match day two of 2023/24 season commenced.

Livingston Molondo and Lawal Abubaker scored the only goals that Venoms needed to secure victory over ‘Kongolo’.

Molondo who missed the opening game of season against Gaddafi FC broke the deadlock in the 15th minute with a powerful header after a well laid cross.

Nigerian born international, Lawal double the lead in 32nd minute to make it 2-0.

Arua Hills could have reduced the score but John Rogers failed to put the ball at back of net in a one on one situation against Komakech in 37th minute.

The visitors came close to scoring once more through efforts from Wahab Gadafi and Abdulahi Rashid from freekick on 65th minute but failed as Komakech was equal to the challenge.

The victory helps Vipers to ascend to top of table with maximum points from opening two games.

Meanwhile, Arua Hills SC have failed to secure any point from possible six points after falling to beat Busoga United on their opener of the season.

Before the kickoff of the game, Allan Okello, Vipers SC new signing was presented before the fans.

Vipers SC will make a trip to Western part of the country to play Mbarara City as Kongolo host Bul FC.
