Ssemuju lost to Algerian Younes Nemouchi at the last 32 by unanimous decision read a 5-0 point middleweight (69-75kg) at the Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo.

A highly anticipated revenge for Ssemujju did not have a happy-ending, Younes also defeated the Ugandan Boxer at the Semi Finals of the African Olympic qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal in the middleweight last 32.
