Uganda’s David Kavuma Ssemuju Eliminated at the Round of 32 Men’s Middleweight | 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Ssemuju lost to Algerian Younes Nemouchi at the last 32 by unanimous decision read a 5-0 point middleweight (69-75kg) at the Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo.

The Judges in Round 1 read: 10 – 9, 10 – 9, 10 – 9, 10 – 9, 10 – 9 for the Algerian in the Red Corner, Round 2 went in all favors for Younes who recorded 20 – 18, 20 – 18, 20 – 18, 20 – 18, 20 – 18. The judges declared the Algerian Men Middleweight the victor.

 

A highly anticipated revenge for Ssemujju did not have a happy-ending, Younes also defeated the Ugandan Boxer at the Semi Finals of the African Olympic qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal in the middleweight last 32.

 

However, Ssemujju did much better against the Algerian that had 6 matches, winning four and losing two before the Olympics since March 2021. David last had a competitive game in February 2020 before Uganda went into its first lockdown due to the Corona Virus Out-break.
