Ugandan duo at Zesco United eager to shine.

Alfred Leku

The nine (9) times Zambia Super League Champions, Zesco United Sports Club signed two Ugandans Kezeroni Kizito and Alfred Leku in this transfer window in preparation for next season which kicks start next month of August.

Kezeroni joined the club from Buildcon FC as compatriot, Leku Alfred came from Arua Hills SC.

“The guys have been very welcoming and friendly. It is a new place but am familiar with most of the guys because we played against each other in the Super League during my days at Buildcon.” Kezeroni told club website.

“I am adapting very well, and competition is high because all the players here are technically gifted. Preseason has been intense as expected. I can’t wait to compete with every team when the league starts.”

Largely seen as a replacement for retired ZESCO United striker and now physical trainer (Winston Kalengo), Leku is aiming to fight for first place in the team.

“I would like to thank God for this wonderful opportunity. I am incredibly happy to have secured this move because this is one of the best teams in Africa. It is a dream come for me. I can develop here and get the best out of myself.” Said Leku.

“Training is good. The past few weeks have been very good. I am slowly getting there. There is a lot of competition for places because this a big team.”

With the season opening next month, Leku can’t wait to don TeamYaziko colours.” I can’t wait to play for the club and help the team win trophies.”

Both players are eager to shine in their first season with Team Ya Ziko.
