The CECAFA U17 champions will be hosting Cameroonat the end of October before the return tie in November.
Uganda U17 girls’ football team captain and also USPA award winner, Juliet Nalukenge has stated that the playersare giving in their all during the trainings regardless of how hectic they are focusing their eyes on the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.
The players have camped at the Star Times Stadium Lugogo preparing for the two-legged meeting against the West African team.
Nalukenge has maintained her standard and all is going on well so far and emphasizes that they are ready for the ties scheduled for October and November.
The first match will be played on 31st October in Kampala before the second leg in Mid November.
The skipper and her team mate are training under assistant coach Hadijja Namuyanja, fitness trainer Olive Mbekekaand goal keeper coach James Magala.
Head coach Ayub Khalifa is in self-isolation after he tested positive for coronavirus a few days ago.
“We had a brilliant training session on Sunday,” the CECAFA starlet was quoted by PML Daily. She also said that the players are well and making sure they are well-prepared for the match this month.
Meanwhile the coaches are doing their best in terms of preparing the players and they are also giving 100% effort. Their sole target is to overcome Cameroon and progress to the world cup.
The winner of the match scheduled for 31st will join another 2 nations to represent the continent in the global tournament that will be held in 2021.
Among the players under this training camp include; Daphine Nyayenga,Joan Namusisi and Zulaika Ngamitawho are all goalies.
Defender under training include; Grace Aluka, SamalieNakacwa, Sumaya Komuntale, Bira Naddunga, Gillian Akandinda, Gloria Namugerwa , Patricia Akiror among others
The midfielders include; Winifred Kwatulira,DevineMirembe, Shamira Nalugya, Shakira Nyinagahirwa,KevinNakacwa, Moreen Nangonzi, Rith Nyakato,SumayaKyomuhendo, Sumaya Tibazilika among.
Forwards include; Juliet Nalukenge,Zaina Nandede, Fauzia Najjemba,Hadijja Nandago, Margret Kunihira, Catherine Nagadya, Zaitun Namaganda, Eva Nagayi,Kamuyati Naigaga and Brenda Munyana.
