JT Lady Jaguars will be seeking to return to winning column when they face off with UCU Lady Canons.

The Lady Jaguars, Division One Champions, who win Division One unbeaten last season, suffered their first ever defeat against Magic Stormers last weekend.

And in UCU, they face off with a side they have a clue or two about, starting with Canons coach Nicholas Natuhereza who was at their bench for some part last season and is also a Technical Director at the club.

Almost 70% of JT Jaguars players have played at UCU including Maimuna Nabbosa who was part of UCU’s title winning squad last season.

Ruth Letaru left UCU after the first round of last season to join KCCA Leopards before crossing to JT this year.

Zainah Lokwameri, Sarah Ageno, Rhoda Naggita, Brenda Kayaga and Sarafina Drichiru are also former UCU Canons players.

The JT Lady Jaguars are coached by Sudi Ulanga, a player who featured for UCU Canons last season.

After a 51-67 loss against JKL Ladies, the Lady Canons have recorded two wins in a row – Coming against Kampala University and A1 Challenge.

After the win against Kampala University Ladies last Saturday, UCU Lady Canons Assistant coach Emmanuel Kiguyi said: “It was important for us to have a morale-boosting game where we had not s much pressure, our new players can get acclimatised to the league.”

“We are moving smoothly, our major problem has been the healthy of the players but most of them are rehabbing and their return dates are near and we hope that as the new players get acclimatised, they just get better and this game was a manifest that they play.

“We shall get better as the new season progress.”

And the game against JT Ladies pits together two of this year’s title contenders.
