Transfers news: AS Otoho d’Oyo sign Ugandan defender from Gor Mahia.

Congolese giants, Otoho d’Oyo sign Ugandan left back, Fred Nkata from Kenyan Premier League club, Gor Mahia.

“Welcome Fred Nkata. Ugandan left-back Fred NKATA is a new Otohô player. Former Gor Mahia player, Fred comes to strengthen the defensive sector of the blue and yellow,” club posted.

Fred Nkata is a son to coach Paul Latest Nkata joined Gor Mahia FC in 2021 and has spent more than six years while playing in Kenyan league.

Otoho d’Oyo monitored Nkata, when their club eliminated Gor Mahia in the Total Energies CAF Confederation Cup as they denied them a chance of qualifying to group stages last year.

AS Otoho d’Oyo is not new to ears of Ugandans because they remembered it, when they did eliminate KCCA FC in the CAF Confederation Cup at first round in 2018.

The dreadlocked defender will have a chance to play in the CAF champions league, they are going to play Cape Town of South Africa in the Preliminary round of 2022/23 campaign.

Nkata become the second Ugandan to play in Congo Brazaville top-flight league after Robert Odongkara with AS Horoya.

He has previously played for SC Villa, Nairobi City Stars, Bandari FC and Tusker FC.
