Uganda Premier League club, Mbarara City FC, have signed Bashir Mutanda as a free agent after he is two year contract expired at the end of last season with SC Villa.
Bashir Mutanda who was heavily linked with a move to Ugada Revenue Authority FC which hit a dead end, has inked a one year contract with the Ankole lions.
Mutanda was SC Villa top scorer with 13 goals to his name in his first season with Nsambya based club but into his second season, his scoring boots only managed two strikes to his name because the first round of last season was spent nursing the knee injury.
The former Busoga United and Vipers SC forward is seen as a direct replacement for Brian Ahebwa who landed a juicy deal with KCCA FC.

Bashir Mutanda becomes Mbarara City FC fourth additions in their squad in the ongoing transfer window but joins defender Karim Ramathan from Kasese New Villa, duo Ework and Kalungi Godfrey from Light SSS FC.
Samali Farouk was also welcomed back from Kigezi Home boys after expiring of his loan spell.
Barenge Pistis, Swalik Bebe Segujja and Soulymane Bamba, all their contracts have been extended.
Meanwhile, Kabuye Stephen and Bashir Muweesi, Ibrahim Orit and Brian Ahebwa have departed Mbarara City FC.
Last season Mbarara City FC managed a 7th place finish after the league ending it prematurely just after 25 rounds of play.
