Uganda Premier League last season’s topscorer, Mukwala Steven has signed a two year contract with Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club to end all speculations that were linking him to Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko.
As earlier, this site reported that Mukwala Steven had opted out of the transfer move to join Kotoko after the club failing to pay his signing on fee. He becomes the sixth player to join the tax collectors in the ongoing transfer window.
Mukwala says there is a mountain to climb for him if he is going to displace the already established forwards at the club but he believes if given game time, he can play ahead of them.
“It’s only fair to note that URA FC has very good strikers and it won’t be easy to break through the team but when given chance, I will give my best to see that I help the team get the goals and maybe win the trophy afterward.”
“The coach, board, and everyone affiliated with URA should expect to see 100% efforts from me and I want to try and win the trophy with URA FC this coming season, why not?”
The 21 year old Striker joins URA FC as a free agent after Vipers SC releasing him at the end of the season when he completed his loan deal with Maroons FC were he achieved his biggest feat in his Career, becoming the league’s topscorer with 13 goals from 22 games he had played.
Steven Mukwala is a product of Edgar youth football program and played for two Masaza Cup teams, Bulemeezi and Singo.
Other players who have signed for URA FC in this transfer window are; Hannington Sebwalunyo, Ssali Davis, Arafat Galiwango, Nunda Jackson and Brian Nkuubi.
