The former Cameroonian international player, Samuel Fills Et’oo while doing interview with ‘AS’ sports hinted on how African continent can get the second Ballondor.

Goerge Wear Opong who is now the current President of republic of Liberia is the last and only African player to ever win the award of best player of world in 1995 beating Germany Jurgen Klinssman by 144 votes to 108 votes.

The four times African player of year Samuel Et’oo is on how Africa can reap another gong.

“It depends on the voters, there are some Africans who do not believe in the players of their continent and this only happens in Africa,” Samuel Et’oo told AS

“When we see players having good seasons or not, they automatically win the votes of the Continent to which they belong,”

“We can make a difference in our continent thinking carefully about what comes to us from abroad or that what is imposed on us,” He added

“When you watch the matches of leagues on foreign channels you find that players are sold from other places and it is reported that they

are the best, and thus our journalists are convinced despite the fact the results are seen every where,”

“But looking over the recent past then I always say Messi has been the best player in the world over the years, followed by Christiano Ronaldo. I think they belong to another planet.”

” But despite everything in recent years emerging players like Sadio Mane have stood out, some who made amazing differences, won

almost all the titles, scored goals in all tournaments, but results was that he did not win the Ballondor ….why???”

“Because of those who vote thinking that the best has different meaning and that he may have to be of descent from another place that is not our continent, that’s why on Many occasions we lost,”

Samuel Et’oo is now among the top advisors to the CAF president Ahmad Ahmad.
