Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club were held to a goalless draw by Egyptian outfit Al Masry at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in the first leg of second preliminary round of 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

Prior to the game 13 of URA FC members tested positive for Covid-19 including players.

Steven Mukwala, Rwothomio Cromwell, Vianne Sekajugo and Shafic Kagimu all tested positive and didn’t take part in game.

The gaffer, Sam Timbe is pleased with result despite their intial plan of getting all the three points.

“We planned to win but unfortunately it couldn’t happen. This is a fair, I loved the team spirit of each player because they fought so hard today despite a late scare.” Said Timbe.

The visitors could have killed the game in 12th minute but Amr Musa’s penalty take was saved by Nafian Alionzi.

The two sides will meet again next Saturday on 23rd in the second leg to decide who makes the final qualification round.
