D-Mark Power hang on to beat UCU Canons and force a decisive Game Three of their NBL Playoffs Quarterfinal series at Lugogo.

Coming into Game Two on Friday, Power needed nothing but a win having lost Game One last Saturday 58-53 to trail the best of three series 1-0.

But a resilient performance handed them a hard fought and deserved 74-66 victory ahead of the decider.

The see-saw game saw Power lead 21-09 after the first quarter but UCU Canons fought back to trail by just a point at halftime.

Power limited UCU to just five points in the third and were up by 20 points heading into the final quarter.

But an indomitable UCU fought back again and to move within four, but Power who were grasping at straws at the time, held on down the stretch to save their season.

Ozias Kikomba contributed 15 points and 20 rebounds while Isaac Afidra scored another double double of 11 points and 10 rebounds for Power.

Two more Power players Guellord Mobanza (11) and Elvis Mpeti (16) scored in double digits on the night.

Jimmy Otim (18), Lwabaga Ibanda (12), Rogers JohnBaptist Dauna (11) and Jerry Kayanga (10) were the UCU players to score in double figures.

Peter Sifuma scored throughout the contest, only contributing two points and 11 rebounds!

And despite the game being evenly poised, Power has the momentum and will fancy their chances to reach the semis.
