It now official that entertaining left wing back Mustafa Kizza has joined Major League Soccer Club Montreal Impact on two years Contract with possibility of more three years depending on performance.
The 20 year left back joined KCCA FC senior team from Academy in 2017. Since then he has been able to establish himself as one of the best modern left backs that Uganda is blessed to have and has went on to clinch two League titles as well as two Uganda Cups.
Mustafa will join Montreal impact win 12th August 2020 when the secondary transfer window starts but KCCA FC will retain him on loan until December 2020 due to Covid -19 and he will not be taking a spot on international roster of Montreal Impact but the Club keeps the options to recall him back when the situation improves.
“We are readily happy to acquire one of the best young players from Uganda,” Said Impact sporting director Oliver Renard in a press release.
“Mustafa Kizza is a modern attacking left back with great crossing abilities and huge potential. He is good on free kicks and his height will also help on set pieces.”
Mustafa Kizza will be playing under the stewardship of former Arsenal FC captain, Henry Thiery, who is head coach for Canadian based team.
Mustafa will be joining other three African players and rubbing shoulders with Former Tottenham Hotspurs Midfielder and Kenyan international payer Victor Wanyama, Orji Okwokwo from Nigeria, Clement Diop from Senegal and Saphir Taider from Algeria.
Last season Mustafa Kizza played to a tune of 19 league games scoring 5 and providing 12 assists.
While in CAF Champions league for 2019/20 he played 9 games, scored four and recorded four assists.
He is the reigning Airtel FUFA award Most Valuable player of the year 2019.
