Kenyan Premier League club, Gor Mahia FC has appointed former Uganda Cranes Head coach, Johnathan Mcknistry as their new coach as this website earlier reported.
The Irish man has put a pen to a two year contract with the K’ogalo.
He replaces Andreas Spiers who left the club after his short term contract had ended leading them to triumph of Madaraka Cup.
Mcknistry was the head coach of Uganda Cranes after being appointed to take up the mantle from french man Sebastian Desabre who had resigned.
He led Uganda Cranes to their 15th Cecafa senior challenge Cup in 2020 and the following year, was sacked due to poor results after a poor shown down in 2021 African Nations Championship.
Mcknistry becomes the second foreign coach, who have ever handed both Uganda Cranes and Gor Mahia.
Besides Uganda Cranes job, Mcknistry has been the head coach of Serra Leone and Rwanda men’s national football team previously.
