Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club appointed their former General Secretary, Mayeku Henry, as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“URA FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Henry Mayuke as the new Club CEO.” Reads part of the statement released by the Club.

Mayuke Henry replaces Ivan Kakembo whose contract was not renewed by the tax collectors after serving a period of one year which was marred by the clashes between him and the head coach, Sam Simbwa.

Ms Bridget Nakayenga has been working as acting CEO since January 2020.

Mayeku has previously served as the URA FC general Secretary between 2011-2016 and has been given a one-year renewable contract effective 1st September 2020.

The appointed CEO has heaped praises on the team and promised to bring professionalism, his experience as well as inter skills to the team.

“URA FC is a club everyone would dream to work with. I am so happy to come back and associate with a place I call home.” Said New CEO, Mayeku Henry.

“I promise to bring professionalism, experience and interpersonal skills which I believe will take back URA FC to the top where it is supposed to be.” He added.

His appointment comes in after the club has just made only one addition to their squad, Jackson Nunda, who joined them as a free agent from KCCA FC in the ongoing transfer window.

Mayeku’s immediate task is to organise the team and start winning titles so that they can return back to continental football.

The four-time league champions, URA FC last won the league title during the 2010/11 season.
