Defending Champions NIC Netball Club eased past African Revival University on the resumption of the National Netball League to move level on 24 points with leaders Prisons and KCCA.

It’s should be noted that the leagues was suspended in January, just after two match-days into the second round due to “unavoidable uncertainties” according UNF.

The record Champions NIC who have played more games than leaders Prisons, are still in third place with 24 points as well.

Both sides started strongly, converting each of their three opening center passes until NIC took advantage of Center player Agnes Namuyomba’s
blind pass and later a Kayenyi Privas steal to stretch the lead.

African Revival struggled to drive the ball to their shooting circle as NIC continued to compound solid defense to win repeated turnovers which they did no mistake to convert to win the first quarter 09-15.

Second half was a goal-for–goal affair until midway into the the quarter when Margret Bagala’s double interceptions gave NIC yet another lead.

Wing Defense Nassolo’s error, and Kayenyi rebounds, saw NIC enjoy a comfortable 12-goal cushion to go into halftime break leading 20-32.

In the third quarter, NIC meant more business and capitalized on their opponent’s many blunders to take quick 5-1 at the start of third quarter before Kayenyi well collected rebounds to make it seven in a row for NIC

NIC showed their class and experience as they continued to run away from African Revival who tried to put a challenge after a switch in their defense.

Nonetheless, NIC went on to end the quarter leading 31-49.

The fourth was a smooth run for NIC and an icing on the cake as there was almost no resistance from African Revival who managed only 9 goals compared to NIC’s 24, and NIC comfortably won the match 73-40 to keep up with log leaders .
