KIU Titans are leading 2-0 in their best-of-five semifinal series against UCU Canons.

In Game Two, held on Sunday at the YMCA Court in Wandegeya, the Titans emerged victorious with a score of 73-56.

Despite missing three key players, Peter Sifuma, Jimmy Otim, and John Baptist Dauna, due to injuries, the UCU Canons put up a strong fight and were tied 50-50 at the end of the third quarter.

However, in the fourth quarter, KIU took control with a 12-0 run, thanks in large part to Joseph Chuma, who scored 11 of his 13 points in that quarter, including three three-pointers and several key blocks.

Coach Nicholas Natuhereza may feel his team could have performed better, but they were plagued by 21 turnovers and missed layups, shooting only 17-of-50 from inside.

Their bench contributed just eight points, in contrast to KIU Titans’ 39, highlighting the difference in squad depth.

Denis Balungu and Peter Obleng each secured 15 and 14 rebounds, respectively.

Unfortunately, Amisi Saidi Danny, who had recently lost his mother, had a quiet night with 5 points.

For the Canons, Lwabaga Ibanda led with 14 points, followed by Abraham Isyagi with 13 points and Kevin Kasobya with 12 points.

KIU Titans have the opportunity to complete the sweep and secure a spot in the finals for the second time in their history if they win Friday’s Game Three.
