Najjemba relishes Afcon tournament despite not going passed group stage.

Former Kampala Queens forward, Fauzia Najjemba now plying her trade with Kazakhstan Championship club, Bk Kazygurt women club, has relished the Women African Cup of Nations tournament, currently taking place in Morocco.

Najjemba was the captain as Crested Cranes played their last and final game of group A against Burkina Faso, playing to a 2-2 draw as both exited the tournament at group stage level.

Despite not making out of group and failing to score a goal at the tournament were Uganda was returning to continent’s show piece after 22 years of not participating, the 18 year old player is greatful of playing at the tournament of that magnitude.

“Playing at such a tournament meant a lot to us and definitely so many lessons learnt. Results didn’t come our way but we are a group of determined people willing to learn from our mistakes and get better in the future. Najjemba twitted.

Najjemba went ahead to commend the work of fans of cherishing the team and promised the future is bright for the girls.

“To the fans, you relentlessly supported and the messages online encouraged us. I’m confident and proud to say the future is bright. We shall rise again.” She added.

Uganda Crested Cranes finished the tournament at the bottom of group A with one point collected after three games.
