The President, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), Moses Magogo named his 5 best players of all time, shockingly no Ugandan football player made it to his list.
Moses Magogo has now left out Former SC Villa striker Majid Musisi, Former KCC currently KCCA forward Phillip Omondi, Former Express FC, KCCA , SC Villa and Uganda Cranes legend Jimmy Kirunda who won the CECAFA Cup with Uganda in 1969,1970,1973,1976 and 1977.
The former Uganda Cranes skipper, Denis Onyango won the 2016 CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns and took part in the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup, named the 2016 African-based player of the year, ranked the 10th best goalkeeper in the world in list for 2016 complied by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics. Onyango represented Uganda at the 2017 Africa Cup Of Nations, and captained them until his bizarre international retirement earlier this year.
While at Villa Park where he started his professional career, he won three league titles and the 2005 CECAFA Kagame Cup in which he conceded no goal at Mwanza. Denis Onyango won made accolades as an 8 times South African League champion, 2 times South African Cup Winner, 1 time CAF Champions League Winner and Super Cup Winner.
Denis Onyango remains the most-decorated player from Uganda and her history of football with the most accolades, you would expect him to be included in the list of the best players of all time of the FUFA president but it was a shocker to all.
“Too much in one picture, The artists, The greatest of all time that I watched, Achievements and entertainment in one package. Maradona, Zidane, CR7. Ronaldinho, Messi. In that order. It is my view. What is yours don’t change mine” FUFA President, Moses Magogo tweeted today.
