Miya Farouk, is into his second year of his contract and so his second season with Konyaspor, having joined them last season on 3 year contract from HNK Gorica from Croatia.
Miya had an impressive performance last season with Konyaspor, getting involved in 10 league goals from 25 games.
And he was the club’s top scorer with 8 goals and two assists.
He is expected to build on that fine form he had last season to steer his team for best league position finish under new stewardship of Ismail Kartal.
Prior to the kickoff off the this season, Konyaspor manger whom they appointed in February this year, Bulent Korkmaz did hand in his resignation, because he was not fine with the way the club was bringing in new players without him sanctioning them.
And four days ago, former Fernabahce, Sivasspor and orduspor coach, Ismail Kartal was appointed as Korkmaz replacement on two years contract.
Last season, Turkish Football Association announced that not club will be relegated to second tier league.
In the new season, four (4 ) teams are going to be relegated and three promoted so that the league can accommodate 20 teams starting with the 2021/22 season.
Konyaspor’s new additions to the team includes; Adil Demirbag, Sokol Cikallesh, Samal Eduok, Musa Cagiran, Ugur Demirok and Ibrahim Sohic.
Konyaspor’s opponents Genclerbirligi lost their opening game, (2-0) against Antalyaspor.
And Genclerbirligi has failed to score in six league games in the last eight games.
Konyaspor lost their last game of the season (3-2) against Alanyaspor.
Konyaspor finished in 13th league position managing 36 points from 34 games last season.
