Mcknistry Johnathan impressed with Uganda Cranes’ draw against Cameroon.

Uganda Cranes came from a goal down to settle for a 1-all draw with intermediate Lions of Cameroon in a four Nations Pre-mini Chan tournament being held in Cameroon at Stade Ahmadou Ahdjo.

Uganda Cranes forward, Ben Ocen was red carded in 11th minute for an elbow on the opponent, and Cameroonian captain finished of a well taken free kick in 13th minute to hand the host nation a lead.

Vipers SC playmaker, Milton Karisa brought them back at level in 70th minute and boyh teams hold on until the final whistle.

Cameroon also finished off the game with a man less as Abouri Basile was sent off with one minute into the added 4′ in injury time.

Irishman Johnathan Mcknistry, the Cranes Head Coach was very impressed with the how his boys fought back to salvage a draw against Cameroon.

“We said coming into this tournament was not about results. It was about taking on the host Nation and other top opposition. We wanted to come here and prepare for the main tournament.  We encouraged our players to be confident even when we lost one of them. We created chances even with a man less but the equalizer was well deserved.” Mcknistry told FUFA media after the game.

Uganda play Zambia on 4th January 2021 at the same venue before they wrap up the tour with Niger on 7th January 2020.
