Tanzanian poster boy, Mbwana Ally Samatta, opened up his scoring account with Turkish giants, Fernerbahce as the managed to defeat Karagumruk Fatih (2-1) at Ulker stadium.
Samatta joined Fernerbahce a week ago from English Premier League outfit Aston Villa on a season long loan deal with an option of buying his contract.
Samatta was making his full debut for Fernerbahce having came in as substitute in last weekend’s goalless draw against Galatasary.
Samatta opened the score line for Fernerbahce in 24th minute finishing off Erkin Carner’s corner with a great tap in, to put the Fernerbahce in the lead, before doubling it in 68th with a sublime header thanks to Jose Sosa’s well weighed cross.
“I am very happy to help my team by scoring goals today, I would rather have my team be Champions than score a hundred goals. I would be happy to help my team when I scored. But like I said the team is the most important to me.” Said Samatta after his heroic brace.
Karagumruk Fatih got two penalties chance to level the game but their star man Sabo, converted one in 78′ and missed there other in 87′.
Later on Mbwana Samatta paved way for Senegalese international striker Papis Cisse in 84′ to make his debut for Fernerbahce, having also joined them from Alanyaspor.
Fernerbahce finished off the game with one player less, Lemos Mauricio was red carded.
And that victory takes Fernerbahce to top of the league with 8 points from 4 games.
Samatta will hope to extend his fine form with Tanzania national team ahead of their Friendly game against Burundi next week at Benjamin Mkapa stadium.
