Mathias Muwanga pleased with a point earned of Express’ archi rivals, SC Villa.

The Uganda Premier League most old rivalry that is pitted between SC Villa and Express FC ended in a barren stalemate in a match played yesterday April, 14 2021 at Boombo Military ground.

The draw meant that Express FC remain in 3rd position and they are 3 points behind joint table leaders Vipers and URA FC who are on 39 points.

Meanwhile, SC Villa stays in their 6th position on 29 points.

Express FC first choice goalkeeper, Mathias Muwanga who also doubles as club’s vice captain was pleased with a hard fought point earned off their archi rivals as he revealed to club media.

“Today we got a point and it was a big game, it was a derby Villa is a big good team and we were away and so we shall go back home and start from there as we prepare for our next game (Mbarara City FC) we came for a win but we got a part and a clean sheet which is very important. Said Muwanga after the game.

Muwanga was making a come back into this game after missing two games and delighted for a clean sheet.

“Me missing two games is not the point, the important thing is that whoever is selected does a good job and as a department we hope to getting more clean sheets.”
