Uganda Cranes is targeting a sixth straight qualication to the final tournament of African Nations Championship when they host Tanzania in a reverse fixture on Saturday at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
Micho’s coached boys are coming into this game with a 1-0 lead, they archived over the last weekend where Travis Mutyaba’s wonder strike proved to be the difference at Benjamin Mkapa stadium.
Tanzania Football Federation -TFF have already replaced Kim Poulsen with a Zambian Coach Honour Janza who is working as a caretaker and on Saturday will be the man in dugout for Taifar Stars.
Uganda Cranes have only lost once against Tanzania in Qualifiers of Chan and this stretches back in 2009, where Tanzania denied Uganda to participate in the inaugural tournament.
In 2013, Uganda made a revenge against Tanzania as they beat them 4-1 on aggregate to qualify for a second successive final tournament which was hosted in South Africa.
Micho Milutin Syredojevic has expressed readiness ahead of the game on Saturday and will hoping to guide Uganda to his third qualication to final tournament (2014 and 2016).
“The players are ready for the task ahead. We have enough preparations knowing that players were coming from off season, played friendly matches and now the document is in our hands but that document can only be valid with a stamp and that is what we shall be aiming at in tomorrow’s game,” he told the media on Friday Morning during press conference.
Micho added Shaban Mohammad,Brian Mato, Kasonko and Ibrahim Orit to his sqaud which played the first leg.
Meanwhile, Janza Honour recalled John Bocco, who was dropped by Paulsen in the first leg.
The last time Uganda Cranes played at St Mary’s Stadium in Qualifiers of Chan, was against Amavubi Stars of Rwanda and Uganda had a commending victory 3-0 before losing the second leg in Kigali but qualified to the final tournament in Cameroon on a 3-2 aggregate.
The final tournament of 2023 edition will be hosted in Algeria.
