Martin Kizza’s lone strike earns Express FC maiden regional title.

Express FC 1 – 0 Nyasa Big Bullets FC.

Winger Martin Kizza scored the only important goal that Express FC needed to win it’s first regional title at the expense of Malawian Champions Nyasa Big Bullets FC in the final played at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Daresaalam of the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Kizza appeared on scoresheet in the 22′ thanks to Eric Kambale’s assistant.

Previously Express FC had played two first finals and in all on the losing end (1994,1995) against Al Merrikh, Simba SC respectively.

Express FC join other Ugandan clubs like KCCA FC, SC Villa and Police FC that have tasted victory of this competition.

KCCA FC were the defending Champions of this year’s competition but couldn’t negotiate past the group Stages.

Express FC will pocket $30,000 as prize money for winning the title of which they would add FUFA’s promised bonuses of $25,000.
