KIU Rangers Out To Seal Place In Semifinals

Wednesday, September 20
*Miracle Eaglets Vs KIU Rangers (0-1)
*Ndejje Angels Vs Our Saviour (0-1)

(Game Twos – Best of three)

KIU Rangers will hope to reach the NBL Playoffs semifinals when they take on Miracle Eaglets in Game Two on Wednesday at Lugogo.

The Rangers won game one of these best of three quarterfinals 66-58 on Sunday, and will qualify to the semifinals with a win.

“We played our game as a team and we came ready to fight from the start up to the end,” said KIU Rangers’ Ines Kanyamunza.

“We will come with the same mentality of winning like we did on Sunday. We respect Miracle that’s why we’re going to do our best, and try to do the right thing and have fun while playing.

“By God’s grace we’re doing all we can to be in the finals.”

If KIU overcome Miracle, their semifinal opponent will be the winner between UCU Lady Canons and KCCA Leopards, the latter trailing 1-0.

KIU Rangers finished second after regular season and will fancy their chances to get the job done having won 63-62 and 57-51 in the two regular season meetings against the Eaglets.

Miracle on the other hand who finished seventh with 11 wins and as many losses, will go all out to find a leveller.

Coach Arnold Katabi will feel his side could have done better in a game they trailed by a single digit for most parts of the game.

But even a late 9-0 run down the stretch proved not enough to help Miracle who were out-rebounded 64-46.

Pauline Nabatanzi and Mariam Namukwaya had 16 points each for Miracle while Perus Nyamwenge scored a game high 25 in Game one for KIU and that proved the big difference.
