KCCA Panthers managed to overcome Kampala Rockets with a 72-65 victory on Wednesday at YMCA in the National Basketball League.

Guard Daniel Gaaki led the way with 14 points while Gaius Mahamba and Emanuel Odongkara added 12 points each for Brian Wathum’s Panthers.

Emmanuel Okumu and Kur Garang tied for 15 points each, but their efforts proved not enough for the Rockets.

The victory means that KCCA Panthers have beaten Rockets twice this season having beaten the side 71-58 in the First round back in April.

It’s win number six for KCCA in 15 games on the night they were out-rebounded 38-51, and their successive victory having beaten UPDF Tomahawks on Sunday.

Kampala Rockets are second from the bottom, and the newcomers have lost 11 of their 15 games on their debut season in top flight.

On Wednesday, they started off strongly to lead the first quarter 20-15 before their wheels fell off to lose the game by seven points.

They turned over the ball 29 times on the night they could have done better!

In the first game, Hajjara Najjuko and Shillah Lamunu scored 19 and 16 points respectively as UCU Lady Canons eased past A1 Challenge 75-49
