2019 will be a year to remember for young and talented attacking Midfielder, Abdul Karim Watambala, who plays for the reigning UPL Champions Vipers SC.
Karim Watambala has passed through the ranks at Vipers SC, right away from playing for the School team St Mary’s Kitende and Vipers Junior team.
Karim Watambala made his senior debut for Vipers against Proline FC last year during the Pilsner Super 8 game and he had a good display on his first game and everything he did on that day was left desired, ending up scooping man of the match award in that game. But due to injuries, Karim was limited to 12 league appearances, registering 4 assists and one goal.

He was again included in the Chan team that was preparing to take part in the final tournament in Cameroon which was later disrupted by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
On his first season, Karim acknowledges it, was a tough one at the start but through experience gained on the way, helped him to have a better performance.
“Last season was a tough one as I was treading in new waters,” Watambala told the club website.
“At a new stage with so many people of different characters, I endured several challenges. But at the end of the day, my experience was enriched and I learned many lessons. I had a strong starting point to my senior career and I intend to keep going stronger step by step.”
“I enjoyed playing each game,” he said. “The coaches trusted me while I freely showcased my abilities. This made me fit well into the team. Now, I want to do more and more,” added Watambala.
