•Nam Blazers Vs KIU Titans, 9pm

Nam Blazers will unleash their American-born Togolese new signing Jimmy Williams when they face off with KIU Titans in a big clash in the NBL on Friday at YMCA court in Wandegeya.

Jimmy Williams who jetted into the Country last week, is the other signing for the Blazers who earlier on added Julius ‘Kol’ Trumane.

Williams comes with a big profile, but above all, experience – He has played in various African Countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Seychelles, Nigeria, Libya and Togo among others.

He is to a little extent familiar with Ugandan basketball having faced off with City Oilers back in 2017 with Kano Pillars (Nigeria), scoring 27 points against the Ugandan opposition at the 2017 FIBA Africa Champions Cup in Tunisia.

He has also had stints in Arab world, featuring for Qatari side Al-Wakrah between 2011 and 2012.

Recently, he was in Ivory Coast with La Societe Omnisport De L’armee Abidjan (SOA).

He has been reluctant to play on outside court, but given it’s a crucial fixture for the Blazers, the club has decided to field him on Friday.

Jimmy, a scoring Guard, alongside Chris Omanye, is expected to light up the Blazers back court as the side targets to return to the NBL finals for a successive season having lost to City Oilers last year in a decisive Game seven.

Against KIU Titans, they will be seeking for revenge against a side that beat them 74-69 in the First round.

The Blazers have lost four in 16, but with more quality in their roster including Peter Cheng, Michael Makiadi and Paul Odong, and a huge fan-base, the side will be hoping to silence their KIU Titans rivals.

KIU Titans have 13 wins and two losses, sitting just behind unbeaten City Oilers.

They have won all their four second round fixtures – beating JKL Dolphins, UCU Canons, Our Saviour and Rezlife Saints.

Denis Balungu is in huge form having scored eight threes on 8-of-11 shooting to garner 30 points against Rezlife Saints.

But it’s the trio of Amisi Saidi, Collins Kasujja and Peter Obleng who will be the main focus having crossed from Namuwongo (Blazers) to Kansanga (KIU) at the start of this season.

Peter Obleng, Innocent Ochera, Joel Lukoji, Isaiah Mabeny Ater, Stanley Mugerwa, Edgar Munaaba, Henry Okoth among others, leave Coach Julius Lutwama with too much quality across the roster.
