 Hamza Lutalo reduces Cubs squad to 35 players.

It’s now a week since newly appointed technical team for the Uganda’s U17 national team, headed by Hamza Lutalo, they have been with summoned 52 players a head of the zonal regional Qualifiers for U17 African Cup of Nations 2021.

The team has been training at IUIU campus Kabojja and FUFA technical center Njeru.

Lutalo has reduced the squad to 35 players and will further be reduced to 20 before they depart to Rwanda U17 CECAFA AFCON Qualifiers will take place.

Lutalo has explained why the triming of the squad came earlier and says that the time is against them, and further added the releases players will continue monitoring them at respective clubs in the junior league.

“We took a decision to reduce the number this early because we are against time. Mostly we took preference for defensive and offensive. Those not selected will be followed at their respective clubs during the Juniors league. Now we need to focus on those staying in camp so that we work on our targets before the opening match.”

The remaining players will be still kept at the camp for more 14 days before traveling.

The tournament will consist of 9 countries divided into 3 groups and Uganda was drawn in B alongside Ethiopia and Kenya.
