Gor Mahia confirms the release of two Ugandan players.

After  Kenyan football league transfers coming to an end on 6th November 2020 ahead of the new season for 2020/21, with several clubs bringing in fresh legs to replace the wornout ones.

Kenyan Premier League record holders (18) were the busiest side, letting go of 15 players and bringing on 17 new players.

Among the 15 players that were released, included two Ugandans that is Juma Balinya who since then was unveiled at KCCA FC and left back Shafiq Batambuze who has been out to close to two years due to knee injury he sustained.

Juma Balinya, who joined Gor Mahia in 2019 from Tanzania giants Young Africans, managed to score two goals from the games that he played for the K’ogalo.

Meanwhile the former SC Villa and Tusker FC left back, Batambuze joined Gor Mahia in 2018. But his career at four time consecutive league Champions was cut short due to injury he sustained while playing in Caf CAF Champions league game against Burundian outfit Aigle Noir in 2019 and underwent for surgery in November last year and was given seven months to recover.

And he is fully recovered from the injury and was rumoured to returning back to Tusker FC on loan which didn’t come to  happen.

Shafiq has featy for quite a number of clubs in Kenya which includes Western Stima and Sofapaka FC.

Other Ugandan players who were let go by Kenya Premier League clubs includes; Goalkeeper Nicolas Sebwato and Brian Kayanja were released by Soafapaka FC and Robert Achema was released by Western Stima.

Meanwhile Yusuf Mukisa joined Nairobi City Stars FC on two year contract.
