Good News suffer heavy defeat against Gaddafi FC



In anticipation of the 2021 FUFA Big League season, Eastern Uganda based team Gaddafi Football Club has kept up the norm with sufficient training sessions and warm up duels.

The most recent development match was the 7-1 lowering of fourth division side Good News Football Club at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe in Jinja city on Sunday, 14 March 2021.

Strikers Joel Madondo and Ronald Bithum Nsumbiano each scored a support in this game.

Umar Kyeyune, Ronald Obele and stylish left footed midfielder Methodious Barsey were also on target for the club coached by CAF “A” licensed tactician, Frank Ssebagala.

Brian Odubo found the consolation for Good News FC.

Gaddafi head coach Ssebagala believes that the players are now physically and mentally ready for the upcoming FUFA Big League season.

“We have had quite a number of build-up matches which are all intended to put our players in the best shape ever as the FUFA Big League comes knocking. The players are now physically and mentally set for the task at hand” Frank Ssebagala, who is deputized by another Ssebagala entity in Michael disclosed.

Gaddafi Football Club is in the Elgon group of the FUFA Big League alongside clubs as the free spending Arua Hill Sports Club, Moyo based Calvary, Zombo’s Paidah Black Angels, Maroons, Mbale Heroes, Kayaks and Blacks Power.

The other group, Rwenzori has clubs like the newly promoted duo of Tiles and Terrazzo as well as Luwero United, Tourism United, Nyamityobora, Kigezii Home Boyz, Proline, Water and the perennial masters, Ndejje University.

Kick of the FUFA Big League had been initially ear-marked for the 18th March 2021 but has been since extended to 25th March 2021 to allow the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) with the best preparations as well as allow the clubs another breather to put their respective houses in order.

FUFA has already confirmed that they will meet the partial costs of the COVID-19 tests in a cost-sharing arrangement with these clubs.

Three clubs shall be promoted to the 2021-22 Uganda  Premier League from the second division.

The top two clubs are promoted directly whilst the third club will be determined via a promotional play-off.

Rwenzori: Tiles & Terrazzo, Ndejje University, Luwero United, Tourism united, Nyamityobora,  Kigezi Home Boyz, Proline, Water

Elgon:  Gaddafi, Paidha Black Angels, Mbale  Heroes, Arua Hill, Calvary, Maroons, Kiboga Young, Kayaks, Blacks Power
