Federation of Uganda Football Association – FUFA in yesterday, 29th June 2022, launched the 3rd edition of FUFA Drum at FUFA house mengo.
The tournament had taken two years without play due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The FUFA Drum tournament has returned with new format starting at knockout stage unlike the previous two editions which had groups.
It will start at round of 16, each tie being played home and away basis and the winner making it to quarter finals and the winners at that level will be pooled in one group playing a round robin format hosted at a central venue.
The top two will play the final and last two play a 3rd playoff.
The draws were conducted at the same venue as defending Champions Acholi were drawn against Bunyoro province and Buganda who won the first title in 2018 will be playing Kigezi Province.
The FUFA President Eng: Moses Magogo confirmed the games with be showed on FUFA TV.
“We are proud to announce that all the games this year will be telecast live on FUFA TV. This will definitely help us to increase on the visibility of the tournament and people living in the diaspora have the chance to watch their respective provinces in action.” said Moses Magogo.
The drum will kickoff on 30th July 2022.
