FUFA confirm international friendly match for Uganda Cranes.

Federation of Uganda Football Association – FUFA has confirmed an international friendly match for Uganda Cranes against Mali on 13th October, 2023.

The friendly match is set to prepare the national team for upcoming 2026 FIFA world cup qualifiers which kick start in November.

Mali will host at iconic Stadium Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.

“FUFA confirms that the National Football Senior team, Uganda Cranes will utilise the FIFA international break in October 2023. With the search for a new head coach for Uganda Cranes ongoing, FUFA has continued with the technical and sporting preparations of the team by lining up an international friendly match with Mali on 13th October 2023.
The match will be played at Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.”

Uganda Cranes is without a head coach after the departure of Micho three weeks ago and the process to name his successor kicked started and the Federation received over 245 applications from different coaches including two Ugandans.

Uganda Cranes last played the Eagles of Mali in 2021 during the 2022 World cup qualifiers and game ended 0-0.
