FBL: Mbale Heroes share spoils with Kataka FC in Mbale Derby.

Mbale Heroes has shared spoils with bitter rivals, Kataka FC in a encounter played at Mbale City stadium.

The Mbale Derby didn’t live up to expectations compared to how it was hyped as few chances were created on either side and hence all firing blanks.

The best clear cut chance of scoring goal opportunity came in lately as it fall on home side when Gerld Ogweti’s free kick was saved by solomon Okello pushing the ball into corner kick.

Both teams were playing their first game of the 2023/24 Betpawa Big League season.

Newly appointed Mbale Heroes head coach, Asaph Mwebaze was in dug for Surgeons for the first time since taking reins from Mbale based club.

Asaph has admitted that his charges didn’t create many chances through out the whole game.

“I can’t say we made mistakes, but we didn’t create enough chances to score. It was our first game of the season, and being a derby, you could see the intensity on both sides. Our focus remains on securing promotion to the Uganda Premier League” said Asaph.

Mbale Heroes play Kigezi Homeboys in their next game away from home as rivals Kataka FC take on Black Powers FC at home.
