EXPRESS FC: Wasswa Bossa hints on his new signings, promises a competitive team.

Wasswa Bossa, the gaffer at the six times league Champions, Express Football Clu,  who is on his third stint with the Red Eagles has hinted on his new recruits ahead of the new season  as well as promising to build a competitive Express FC team that could win a trophy or trophies in his three year contract.

Former SC Villa and Tooro United Football Club Coach, Bossa  rejoined Express FC in February 2020 on short six month contract,  replacing Coach George Ssimwogerere who was sacked  due to poor performance.

But in small space of time, Bossa managed to change few things around the club, instilling confidence among players and posting some few good results including the famous away win to Onduparaka FC in Arua in first game in charge and drawing against KCCA FC.

Before the league was put on hold and eventually ending it prematurely, Bossa was in charge of Express FC five league games, posting 3 wins against Onduparaka, Maroons and Tooro United.  one loss and a draw against URA FC, KCCA FC respectively despite losing in Uganda cup against Maroons FC.

“We have prepared well after the  season in which we were in charge for two months, we found Express FC in a bad position, it was in the red zone but by the time I the pandemic befell the world, we had made massive improvement, seeing that we finished in 9th place.” Wasswa  Bossa narrating to club media.

“Based on what we found and the kind of players we needed for the club to rise again in the recruitment we have been doing all this time. The defense and midfield departments  most of the  time we came to Express was conceding a lot of goals, so we needed to make sure we get players who can fit in our system this season.”

“And the players we have recruited, we sat as a techy team to brainstorm on which players we need to sign to archive what we desired. I believe the players will get the job done, will be competitive.” He added.

Bossa has also assured the fans that, Express will not fight for relegation and wants his  team to be competitive as his first priority.

“What we expect, is Express will not be involved in the relegation, we want to see Express Competitive and that is my first target.”

Bossa has called fans to be calm  as he assembles his team that will see them win a trophy or trophies at the end of his three year contract.

“We will make sure in the three years we signed, at least win a trophy or trophies, we appeal to all fans to keep calm and look at the changes happening as geared towards making Express FC a competitive team,”

 



“I left Express when its competitive and I am back, I want it to be competitive, I appeal to fans to keep calm and we will give them joy.”  He concluded.

Wasswa signed a three year contract with Express FC after his initial short contract had  expired and appointed James Odoch as his assistant with Sam Kawalya bouncing back as goalkeepera coach.

In the ongoing transfer window, Bossa has been so busy as so still in the market, He has so far recruited 10 new players including his players he has been moving with, wherever he gets new  job, the likes of Mahad Kakooza and Godfrey Lwesibawa.

Other signings includes; Cryspus Kusiima, Denis Otim, Abel Eturude, Baker Sakah, Kiragga Mustafa, Charles Musige, Bossa Richard and Ivan Nsengiyunva.
