Dan Birikwalira relishes CEO’s relationship that prompted him to sign for Arua Hills

Newly refurbished FUFA big league outfit, Arua Hills announced the signing of former Vipers SC left back, Dan Birikwalira on a two year contract.

The 24 year old left back has been a free agent after the Uganda Premier League four time and reigning Champions released him after seeing off his contract with the venoms.

Before leaving Vipers, the former Kampala Junior team player (KJT) has had two loan spells with Bright Stars and Mukono  based club, Kyetume FC for 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons respectively.

Birikwalira has relished the close relationship they have with Arua Hills chief Executive Officer (CEO), Anthony Afeti inspired him to join the second tier league outfit.

“I am happy to be here in Arua Hills SC and I am humbled for the warm welcome. My relationship with Tony (C.E.O) was a big factor in deciding to join this club in lower division.” Birikwalira quoted by club’s Facebook page.

“Tony shared with me the ambitions and vision of the club and it’s was impressive. I hope to get play time and earn a national team call were I was before.” He added.

“I also want to do my best to help the club archive their dream of gaining promotion to tier as soon as possible.”

The 2018 FUFA Drum winning captain with Buganda Province, won two league titles (2014/15, 2017/18) and a Uganda Cup (2016)  with Vipers.

After Changing the name from Doves all stars, Arua Hills is destined for greater heights with the way they are trying to professionalise the team, with appointing of Hussein Mbalangu who is the gaffer and will be assisted by Kiwanuka Joseph with task of guiding a team to Uganda Premier League.

The club, has already appointed Ceaser Okhuti as club captain in their quest to earn top flight league promotion next year and alot new recruits expected to be announced very soon.
