Express FC defender, Kibande Cyrus has reflected on his maiden season in top-flight league with Express plus setting up his new targets, both personal and the club come next season.
Kibande was among the few players that, Coach Wasswa Bossa gave a nod when he released the 18 players, as part of his preparation to organize a competitive team for the upcoming season.
Kibande joined Express FC last season from the Eastern regional club Butende Rangers, but due to the injuries, he was limited to only 11 appearances for the club.
He was also named pilsner man of the match during a (2-1) victory over Tooro United.
“I think my first season in the UPL was not all bad and was not all good, I had started well and at the end, I was injured which pained me till to date because I had also hope joining either under National team or Chan team because my performance was not all that bad depending on those one who were called on the national team.” Kibande told club website.
On his next targets for 2020/21 season, the very ambitious defender wants to win a trophy with Express FC, earn National team call up and he wants to be in papers all time so that he can get best suitors clubs from abroad.
“First and foremost I want to work hard and get a trophy for my team Express FC, secondary I want to join the national team level and third, I want to be on market, being in papers all the time so that even if the club to sell me abroad, the club can, those my targets for upcoming season.”
On 12 new signings at the club, the Young lad is very impressed with new recruits and is very optimistic that the Young coup of talented players will help the team to compete and stand high chances of winning the trophy.” He said.
“According to me, the new recruits are not bad and I think that we shall compete in the league because they are young, understand easily, talented, do what the coaches tell them to do and disciplined. All in all, with them there is a high chance or high probability of winning the trophy.
