COSAFA: Crested Cranes outclass Eswatini to register first win.

Uganda W 5 – 1 Eswatini W

Zambia W 3 – 0 Namibia W

Uganda women natonation football team, the Crested Cranes out played Eswatini in a 6 goal thriller to register her first victory in the Cosafa senior Women Championship taking place in South Africa.

Vihinga Queens midfielder Joan Nabirye scored in 15th minute to put Uganda a head before Reticia Nabbosa doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

Eswatini returned strong in second half and squeezed out a consolation goal in 56th minute thanks to celiwe Nkambule effort.

Sandra Nabweteme restored Uganda’s 2 margin lead in 62nd minute to make it 3-1.

Hassifa Nasuna came off the bench to complete the job with a brace in a space of 3 minutes (72′, 75′) .

George Lutalo made three changes from the team that started  against Namibia in a barren as Phiona Nabbumba, Laki Otandeka and Daisy Nakaziro who made her national team  debut started the game with Ruth Aturo, Norah Arupo and Hassifa Nassuna starting off on the bench.

Uganda stand on 4 points in group C and their last game comes on Wednesday, 6th October against leaders  Zambia who have maximised all their two games against Eswatini (Zambia) and Namibia (3-0).

Uganda need a win in Wednesday game to make it through the semis.
