Cheptegei and Nakayi set to make world record in tonight’s Daimond league

Uganda is set to participate in the Daimond league today at 10:13pm in Monaco France in a competition where Uganda’s known athletes vow to make world record.

Irrespective of covid-19 travel restrictions, country officials did easy the process for the World record making sportsmen and women to ably participate in the soon to kick start Daimond league.

Joshua Cheptegei is eyeing World record today in 5km men’s race together with Steven Kisha that represented men’s fraternity.

According to Cheptegei, lockdown found him with his family which he believes gave him enough time away from active sports routine training to rather focusing on family.

However, with ongoing lift of lockdown, Cheptegei was able to resume individual trainings which made him well prepared for today’s competition in Monaco.

The Daimond league not only attracted men but also ladies represented Uganda for one thousand miles race where Halima Nakayi and Winnie Nayondo will be ready to raise Uganda’s flag high.
