Uganda Cranes humbles Taifar Stars of Tanzania (3-0) at St mMary’ Stadium to seal qualication slot in the final tournament of 2023 African Nations Championship Algeria.
Uganda Cranes edged Tanzania, 4-1 on aggregate to earn a sixth straight qualication to the final tournament.
Moses Waiswa converted from a spot kick in 16th minute after Rogers Mato was brought down in forbidden area to put Uganda ahead at half time.
Micho made the first change as he introduced Richard Basangwa for Martin Kizza prior to kickoff of second half and this paid off as Basangwa headed on Waiswa’s well calculated freekick in 54th minute to double Uganda Cranes lead (2-0).
Rogers Mato put the icing sugar on the cake as he also appeared on scoresheet in 75th minute with a super header that beat Tanzania’s Aisha Manula curtersey of Karisa’s assist to make it 3-0.
The Serbian wolf as fondly called made his second and third substitution as he introduced in Said Kyeyune for Youngman Marvin and Kenneth Semakula for Most Waiswa.
More changes were made and this time round previous game changer, Travis Mutyaba came in for Karisa Milton and Orit Ibrahim for Ndahiro .
This is the third time that Milutin Syredojevic Micho guides Uganda to the final tournament of Chan (2014, 2016, 2023).
