Uganda Cranes leave it late against Taifar Stars of Tanzania with Travis Mutyaba’s heroic strike at Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Daressalam to earn  advantage ahead of return leg at kitende of the African Nations Championship Qualifiers (CHAN).

Both sides played to a goalless draw at half time with more of less actions.

The only goal of the game arrived in 89th minute when Sports Club Villa’s entertaining midfielder Travis Mutyaba who came in as substitute, received a ball on the right wing before beating the first defender as he cut inside the box, dogged second oneone  shoot the ball with his sweet left foot that beat Aisha Manula to put Uganda  Cranes in the lead.

Micho ringed some changes in seconad half, Richard Basangwa came in for Martin Kizza,  Younan paved for Saidi Kyeyune, Travis Mutyaba came for captain Milton Karisa, Derrick Ndahiro was Bright in place for injured Ibrahim Juma on the left back.

Uganda needs to avoid a loss in return leg to earn their sixth straight qualication to the final tournament of chan which bars players plying their trade outside a domestic league of respective countries .

Uganda will host This Stars next weekend on 3rd September, 2022 at St Mary’s stadium.
