Uganda has never gone past the group stages in last four editions they have taken part.

Mcknistry is optimistic that Uganda will make the last 8 (quarter finals) this time round and have to start with a victory.

“It’s a tough group, but our objective is to reach the next round. We have to start with a victory,” said McKinstry.

“It’s a bit special to play against my old group. Rwanda coach Mashami worked with me. But my goal is to win. We take the matches one by one,” he added
