CHAN 2021: Fixtures and dates revealed, Uganda opens up with Rwanda.



The new dates and fixtures for the sixth edition of the CHAN 2021 are already out, with hosts Cameroon playing Zimbabwe on the opening day of the tournament on 16th January 2021.

Besides African cup of Nations, the Chan tournament is meant for only players playing in their local leagues.

The six edition was set to take place in month of April this year 2020, but due to Covid-19 pandemic the final tournament was postponed by Confederation of African Federations and after an Executive meeting hold the tournament was rescheduled to take place next year between 16th January to 7th February and Morocco are the defending Champions.

Uganda Cranes, who have played in the last four editions of final tournament will be opening their group C fixture with an East African counter part Rwanda, in Derby with Amavubi Stars on 18th January at stade de la Reunification in Doula.

Uganda will play all their group games at Stade de Reunfication.

The quarter final games will be played on two dates 30th /31st January followed by semi finals on 03rd February 2021 and find played on 7th February 2021.

The tournament will be played in four stadium ( stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Stade Japoma, stade de la Reunification, Stadium Limbe) from three cities ( Yaounde, Douala, Limbe)

A – Cameroon (hosts), Mali, Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe (based in Yaounde)

B – Libya, DR Congo, Congo and Niger (based in Douala)

C – Morocco, Rwanda, Uganda and Togo (based in Douala)

D – Zambia, Guinea, Namibia and Tanzania. (based in Limbe)
