Ceylon Lions Take on Challengers in Kamengo

Two teams with varying ambitions meet on Sunday as Ceylon Lions take on Challengers at the Serenity Oval in Kamengo.

Challengers are seeking to win a first 50 Over league title! They currently sit second in the league standings with eight points, and remain one of the only three sides unbeaten in the league.

The side boasts a 100% run this season having won all their opening four games, but they sit second due to the fact that they have played two games less than Aziz Damani Development who lead the table with maximum points-12.

They will face Ceylon Lions on Sunday looking to maintain that run. Ceylon Lions are currently struggling with form! Out of their first six games, the Lions have just one win which win came as a result of Africa Cricket Club forfeiting their game in late August.

Their first four games were successive losses. It is that kind of form that has left them playing hide and seek with the relegation zone.

They currently occupy the 7th position in the league, just two places and as many points away from the dreaded zone.

Away from that encounter, the Green Oval in Entebbe will host 3rd placed Kutchi Tigers against 4th placed Aziz Damani.

Kutchi Tigers have played three games this season, they have won all three.

Damani meanwhile lost their opening game of the season to their sister club Aziz Damani Development, but they recovered from that loss against ACC and have been on a three-game run win.

The last time they played a game though, was over a month ago. Kutchi Tigers meanwhile come into this one off an 8-wicket win over Wanderers last weekend.

They will hope to maintain their unblemished run this term when they take on the record league winners.

ACC against Nyakasura will be the other weekend game in the men’s division.
