The 2021 CECAFA U23 tournament draws are set for today, 13th July 2021.
The inaugural tournament is set to be hosted in Bahir, Ethiopia.
” We will go ahead and have the draw on July 13th at 13000hrs local time,” Auka Gacheo, Chief Executive Director quoted by the regional website.
Initially the tournament was scheduled to kick start on 3rd July but the regional members associations decided to move the tournament to 17th July.
Somalia, Rwanda and Sudan have confirmed they will not take part in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Zanzibar hadn’t confirmed their participation in the tournament by 12th July 2021.
Each participating Country have to pay a mandatory fee of $20,000.
The teams expected to be drawn include; Uganda, Eritrea, Burundi, Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and guest side DR Congo.
