CECAFA U23: 250 fans will be allowed into Stadium.

The inaugural CECAFA U23 tournament which is to kick start today, 17th July 2021 in Ethiopia amidst the Covid-19 pandemic which has strained the Sports fraternity around the globe.

Before the kickoff of the opening game of the tournament pitted between hosts Ethiopia against neighbors Eritrea in this afternoon at Bahir Dar Stadium, the Cecafa Executive Director Auka Gecheo has confirmed that 250 fans to be allowed into the stadium and watch each  game.

“We have agreed with the hosts that with all protocols put in place only 250 fans will be allowed to watch every game,” said Auka Gecheo.

The fans have been banned from the stadium in several countries since the outbreak of the Pandemic on the continent last year.

The Ugandan referees duo of Ronald Madanda (center referee) and Ronald Katenya (assistant) are among the match officials to over the opening game of the tournament.

Defending Champions, Uganda will be in action tomorrow against guest country, DRC before they face Tanzania on 25th July in group A.

The tournament will end on 30th July 2021.
